New 4-Story Fire Training Tower Takes Dawson County Fire & Emergency Services to New Heights
Dawsonville, GA – Dawson County Fire & Emergency Services has completed a fire training ground overhaul with the installation of a custom-engineered, four-story container-based fire training simulator designed and manufactured by Symtech Fire. The structure significantly enhances the department’s ability to conduct live-fire, technical rescue, and multi-discipline training through a durable, modern, and highly configurable environment.
The project represents a major investment in firefighter preparedness, delivering a purpose-built facility that supports complex, scenario-based training while meeting the evolving needs of an expanding fire service.
Purpose-Built Multi-Level Training Design

At the core of the project is a four-story container fire simulator featuring two Class “A” burn rooms equipped with a high-performance thermal lining system capable of withstanding repeated live-fire evolutions. The multi-level configuration allows crews to train vertically across floors, stairs, and confined spaces. A true reflection of the realities of multi-story residential and commercial response.
The structure incorporates a wide range of technical training elements, including a pitched roof ventilation prop, “Denver” drill window, and wall breach prop, giving firefighters the ability to practice high-value skills in a controlled and repeatable setting.
Advanced Hands-On Training Capabilities
To expand scenario diversity, Symtech Fire integrated several specialized features throughout the simulator:
- Standpipe and sprinkler system with FDC
- Rappel station for technical rescue training
- Forcible entry door
- Garage/industrial door cutting prop
- Varied-angle rebar cutting prop
- Movable wall panels for reconfigurable interior layouts
- Galvanized bar-grating roof deck
- Interior basement staircase and exterior staircase to roof
These elements allow instructors to create complex, evolving training evolutions ranging from ventilation and forcible entry to advanced rescue techniques, within a single consolidated structure.
Built for Instructor Flexibility and Long-Term Readiness

The Dawson County simulator was intentionally engineered around scenario variability and instructor control, enabling personnel to adjust layouts, fire locations, and skill focus areas to meet training goals. Symtech’s design and construction methodology provides long-term durability while supporting frequent, realistic training evolutions with minimal downtime.
The facility positions Dawson County Fire & Emergency Services to strengthen firefighter readiness for years to come, offering a safe, versatile, and high-performance environment that supports both foundational and advanced operational training. Symtech Fire is proud to partner with Dawson County in elevating their training infrastructure and supporting their ongoing commitment to operational excellence.
