Greenville Fire/Rescue Enhances Training Capabilities with New Live Burn Facility by Symtech Fire

Greenville, NC — Symtech Fire is proud to announce the completion of a new live fire training facility for Greenville Fire/Rescue in Greenville, North Carolina.

The newly constructed 2-story Class “A” containerized training structure was designed to provide firefighters with a practical, hands-on training environment that enhances skill development while supporting both current operational needs and future training growth.

The approximately 960-square-foot facility features two insulated burn rooms and configurable interior layouts that allow firefighters to train for a wide range of emergency scenarios, including first-floor and second-floor, simulated fire attacks. The structure also supports training for search and rescue operations, ladder evolutions, roof ventilation, and fire behavior observation.

Greenville Fire/Rescue officially opened the facility during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on May 13, 2026. Prior to the completion of the project, firefighters often had to travel outside the area to conduct live burn training exercises. The new facility now allows crews to complete critical hands-on training locally in a controlled and NFPA-compliant environment.

“Today is a very important day for Greenville Fire/Rescue, the City of Greenville, and the future of fire service training in our region,” said Greenville Fire/Rescue Chief Jeremy Anderson during the dedication ceremony.

Designed and constructed by Symtech Fire, the project reflects the company’s continued commitment to delivering durable, high-quality live fire training solutions that enhance firefighter readiness and safety.

The facility was strategically developed on City-owned property with additional space available for future expansion as Greenville Fire/Rescue’s training needs continue to evolve.
