New Flashover Simulator ST-PRO Brings Realistic Fire Behavior Training to Springdale Fire Department
Springdale, AR – Symtech Fire is proud to announce the successful completion of a new Flashover Simulator ST-PRO installation for the Springdale Fire Department, providing firefighters with a purpose-built environment to train for one of the most critical and dangerous fireground phenomena: flashover.
This project reflects Springdale’s continued investment in advanced, hands-on firefighter training and enhances the department’s ability to deliver realistic, instructor-led fire behavior training in a controlled and repeatable setting.

The Flashover Simulator ST-PRO is a container-based live fire training system designed to replicate rapidly changing interior fire conditions. The system allows instructors to safely demonstrate fire growth, rollover, and flashover progression while maintaining full control over training scenarios. With durable construction, high-temperature thermal lining, and precision-controlled burner systems, the ST-PRO supports consistent, high-quality training outcomes aligned with NFPA 1400/1402 guidelines.
Expanded Training Capabilities
With the addition of the Flashover Simulator ST-PRO, the Springdale Fire Department can now expand its curriculum to include:
- Real-time observation of fire behavior development
- Controlled flashover recognition and response training
- Enhanced firefighter decision-making under rapidly evolving conditions
- Repeatable, scenario-based instruction for both recruit and advanced-level personnel
This installation provides instructors with greater flexibility to tailor training evolutions, helping ensure firefighters are better prepared for the unpredictable nature of interior structural fires
Built for Performance and Longevity
The Flashover Simulator ST-PRO is engineered for durability and long-term performance in demanding training environments. Its modular, container-based design allows for integration into existing training grounds while also supporting future expansion as departmental needs evolve.

Key features include:
- High-temperature thermal lining for realistic fire conditions
- Heavy-duty steel construction for extended service life
- Configurable interior layout to support varied training objectives
During a recent training session, Symtech Regional Manager Brian Arnold spoke with Battalion Chief of Training Patrick Lee of the Springdale Fire Department to gather feedback on the unit’s performance. When asked, “Do you feel like the quality is up to your standard?” Battalion Chief Lee shared:
“Absolutely—once again, it surpassed our standards for quality, durability, and performance. It worked very well today, and I don’t see any reason why it won’t continue to perform well long into the future.”
Delivering Reliable Training Solutions
This project emphasizes Symtech’s continued focus on delivering high-performance live fire training systems backed by strong customer support. Reflecting on the experience, Arnold asked Battalion Chief Lee about the level of support throughout the process. Battalion Chief Lee responded stating:

“Working with Jon Hanson and Brian Arnold, it’s been immaculate. I’ve not had any issues. If I had a question, somebody would answer me back very quickly. Get me lined out, get me straightened out. They were able to work with me, because quite honestly, that was a very big purchase that I wasn’t used to, so being able to have them understand, hey, I don’t understand everything, they’re able to explain it to me a little better, and they’ve been spot on.” By combining proven engineering with a collaborative project approach, Symtech helps departments like Springdale enhance their training capabilities while maintaining safety, consistency, and operational efficiency.
“If anyone is looking for a flashover simulator, I would definitely recommend taking a serious look at Symtech,” Battalion Chief Lee mentioned.
