Milwaukee Area Technical College Adds Symtech Fire Flashover Simulator ST-PRO to Fire Training Program
Oak Creek, WI — Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) has enhanced its fire training capabilities with the installation of a 30-ft Flashover Simulator ST-PRO from Symtech Fire at its Oak Creek Campus.
Symtech’s Flashover Containers provide a purpose-built environment for realistic live-fire training, giving instructors the ability to demonstrate flame development, suppression techniques and changing fire conditions in a controlled setting. Firefighters can observe how a fire progresses and learn to recognize the warning signs and conditions that can lead to flashover.

Built for demanding fire service training, Symtech’s Flashover Containers feature heavy-duty steel construction and high-temperature thermal protection designed to withstand repeated live-fire evolutions. The use of Class “A” fuels allows firefighters to observe developing fire conditions firsthand while practicing suppression techniques under instructor supervision.
The addition of the ST-PRO at its Oak Creek Campus, MATC gives students and fire service personnel repeated opportunities to connect classroom instruction with firsthand observations in a live fire environment. These practical experiences help build the recognition and decision-making skills needed to respond to changing conditions on the fireground.
